A little bit of Lavender as told by her momma:

Lavender was soft and gentle in temperament but also funny when naughty. I never planned to love a chicken, but then I met Lav, I was told she wasn't 'show quality' because of her black beak, and it was then I fell in love a little deeper.

Every time Lucky gets in the nest box Lavender jumps on the perch and just sits there until Lucky is done. I'm not sure if she is there for moral support? Or to encourage Lou to push that egg out! Or to comfort her? Or is Lavender just lonely? Could be all of the above but I find it the cutest- they have a bond and for whatever reason Lavender gets on that perch to be close to Lucky. That's true friendship.
